TXOG’s PTSD Focus Group Shows 71% of Patients Achieved PTSD Remission with Medical Cannabis

AUSTIN, TX–()–Original Texas Compassionate Culture (TXOG), Texas’ leading medical cannabis supplier, today released the results of its clinical evaluation of the company’s post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) focus group. Focus group participants sampled TXOG gummies, lozenges, and tinctures in various doses based on their doctors’ individual prescriptions.

Following the completion of the focus group, TXOG the results of the survey have been published in which patients reported rapid onset of the products’ medicinal effects and unanimous relief of their PTSD symptoms. In addition to the survey, Dr. Matthew Brimberry, board-certified family physician, director of the Texas Cannabis Clinic and physician chair of the focus group, evaluated the group using an input and of an exit PCL-5 Questionnairea 20-item self-report measure that assesses the 20 clinical symptoms of PTSD listed in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).

Dr. Brimberry’s review noted that the drug was well tolerated and no patient discontinued treatment due to drug side effects. Key findings of the evaluation also included:

  • Overall, PTSD symptoms in the focus group were reduced by 47% from an initial mean PCL-5 score of 54.3 to 28.6 after 90 days.

  • 93% of the patients showed a decrease in symptom severity, while 86% of the group showed a clinically meaningful reduction in PTSD symptoms.

  • At the end of the 90-day focus group, 71% of the group achieved PTSD remission, defined as a PCL-5 score of less than 33, while using the TXOG product.

The focus group, comprised exclusively of veterans clinically diagnosed with PTSD under the DSM-5 Trauma and Stressor Disorders framework, assessed symptom response, patient product preference, and the potential of medical cannabis to reduce traditional pharmaceutical consumption. Participants reported reduced pain, fewer nightmares, better sleep, and improved mood when using TXOG’s medical cannabis products.
