Rules of Vaping Etiquette That Should Never Be Broken

Vaping Etiquette Rules That Should Never Be Broken

Although vaping is a hobby closely associated with relaxation, that doesn’t mean that vaping enthusiasts shouldn’t follow certain rules of etiquette. As with many other forms of recreation, vaping simply cannot be done in certain places and with certain people. Fortunately, the rules surrounding vaping etiquette are pretty easy to remember and follow. So if vaping etiquette is a topic you could delve into, remember the following rules.

Being inconsiderate when visiting others

When visiting someone’s house, you should be very mindful of your vaping habits. For example, you should never assume that you are authorized to vape in the residence of a family member, friend or casual acquaintance. So before you pull out your vape pen, be sure to ask permission. No matter how well you know this person, vaping in their home without permission is likely to make things awkward and uncomfortable between you. Additionally, being granted permission once do not is equivalent to obtaining a license in perpetuity.

You should also be careful with your vaping gear when visiting other people’s homes. For example, if you are asked to vape outside, throwing disposable vapes in someone else’s backyard is not only bad manners, but also trash. The last thing a friend or family member wants to find after your visit is a yard full of disposable vapes. Chances are you wouldn’t appreciate someone disrespecting your property in this way, so you’d better hold yourself to the same level.

Getting angry when asked not to vape

If you ask permission to vape in someone else’s home – or in someone else’s presence – and are told no, you should refrain from vaping. There are plenty of good reasons why people around you wouldn’t want you vaping in their presence, and refusing to accept that comes across as rude, immature, and extremely off-putting. Besides creating an uncomfortable situation, such behavior will make people less likely to want to spend time with you in the future.

You should also avoid making a scene when asked not to vape in public spaces. Since vaping is banned in the vast majority of public places, acting in disbelief when told to put away your vape pen only serves to render you look bad.

Vaping in restricted public spaces

As noted above, vaping is prohibited in a large majority of public spaces. So even if you don’t see a sign that explicitly states a location’s vaping policy, you should never assume that vaping is allowed. If there is any doubt, just ask. Assuming you can vape without a clearly stated policy, you risk embarrassing the public and banning some of your favorite local spots. Also, if you are with friends or family members at the time, they may experience as much humiliation as you. So if you don’t pay attention to the rules of your own For the sake of it, do it for the people you care about.

Vaping while dining in a group

If you want to vape before, during, or after a meal while dining alone, go for it. However, while having dinner in a group, whether at someone’s house or in a restaurant, you must refrain from vaping, especially at the table. Even though many of the attendees are other vaping enthusiasts, that doesn’t mean they want to see and smell your clouds of vapor when they try to eat. If you absolutely can’t sit down for a meal without vaping, at least have the courtesy of taking it outside.

No matter how much you enjoy vaping, you need to understand that not everyone will share your enthusiasm. Therefore, when you vape in the presence of other people, it is important to respect certain rules of etiquette. Luckily, vaping etiquette isn’t hard to learn or painful to practice. Adhering to proper vaping etiquette can be a boon to your social life and personal relationships and help prevent various types of conflict. Anyone who regularly vapes in social settings would do well to educate themselves on the rules of vaping etiquette.
