Prospiant Launches Delta Ethanol Extraction CUP-5 for Cannabis Processors – Cannabis Business Executive

PRESS RELEASE

Designed as the smallest and most universal ethanol extraction unit in the cannabis industry

CINCINNATI, January 13, 2022 — Prospiant, the agtech business unit of Gibraltar Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROCK), today announced the launch of its most universal innovation to date, Delta Ethanol Extraction CUP-5. The Delta CUP-5 is designed to meet the specific needs of small-scale cannabis processing facilities, prototype labs, and educational research labs. It combines closed-loop cold alcohol extraction technology with mechanical centrifugation, ensuring a high-purity end product.

The Delta CUP-5 is the industry’s first extraction unit that meets the needs of small cannabis processors. It handles plant material (depending on plant size) in batches as small as 3.5 pounds and can complete the extraction process in 2-12 minutes. Plus, it’s easy to clean and simple to use. The operation of the device is similar to that of a washing machine.

Prospiant is an industry leader in ethanol extraction equipment. In 2019 the company offered the first UL ANSI/CAN/UL/ULC 1389 compliant systems for use in the United States and Canada and in 2020 it was granted a patent for the Delta CUP platform. Now the Delta CUP-5 becomes a star of the CUP series with its easy-to-use design and unique features.

Delta CUP-5 innovations include:

  • It does not have a Hazardous Location (HazLoc) requirement nor does it require a C1D2 environment like other extraction systems.
  • The 220 volt single phase low power CUP-5 operates with a minimum of 1.5 horsepower. It can work almost anywhere.
  • It uses proven ethanol technology, requiring only 5 gallons per cycle.
  • It is a small but very powerful extraction unit.

“The Delta CUP-5 is a solution for small processors looking to add ethanol to their extraction portfolio and for companies expanding ethanol production through an existing Prospiant Delta CUP series system,” said Mark Dunson, president of the Prospiant group. “The system is uniquely designed for ease of use and scale flexibility, avoiding the need for special installation. With the push of a button, the Delta CUP-5’s automated program menu runs the single-phase cycle to the user’s specifications.
