Applied UV Announces Order for The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel

$2 Million Furniture Order Expected Subject to Initial Model Room Product Approval

MOUNT VERNON, NY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Applied UV, Inc. (Nasdaq CM: AUVI) (“Applied UV” or the “Company”), a pathogen removal technology company that applies the power of narrow range ultraviolet (“UVC”) light for surfaces and catalytic bioconversion technology for the purifying air to destroy pathogens safely, thoroughly, and automatically, announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary MunnWorks, a manufacturer of custom luxury mirrors and furniture for the hospitality market, has received an order for a model room from The Cleveland Renaissance Hotel, which will be entirely financed by the developer of the hotel. After successful acceptance of the “Model Room” order, a follow-up order of $2 million is expected. This hotel furniture order will be manufactured at the 100,000 square foot MunnWorks manufacturing facility in Brooklyn, NY, which MunnWorks acquired on March 31st2022, through the purchase of VisionMark LLC luxury furniture manufacturing company.

Max Munn, President and Director of Applied UV and MunnWorks, said, “This order from the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel validates this recent purchase of strategic VisionMark assets as there is growing interest in the furniture industry. to produce furniture made in the USA and reduce dependence on and supply chain issues associated with products made in China.

Steve McCloskey of McCloskey Purchasing Group said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with a premium national manufacturer for our hospitality furniture needs. MunnWorks is a well-respected and well-known supplier to the hospitality industry, and by making additional furniture available it can become even more important as a national supplier to the hospitality world.

Max Munn further stated, “The combination of the business inherited from MunnWorks and the furniture manufacturing business formerly owned by VisionMark provides a broader opportunity in the hospitality market than before. The acquired furniture business further enables the company to design, support, manufacture, deliver and install high-end hotel living space furniture that is constructed of wood, glass, metal and stone and further expands our reach into the luxury hospitality market beyond our existing core mirror business. Additionally, MunnWorks now has the opportunity and ability to design and install the Airocide™ air purification system inside hotel room furnishings (bedside tables, desks or dressers). By doing so, we can potentially reduce the unit cost as well as the installation costs of the Airocide™ air purification solution for the hotel operator. The company plans to immediately begin designing marketing initiatives that would also include the Airocide Inside™ TradeMark. »

VisionMark reported revenue on a pro forma basis of approximately $7 million in its fiscal year ended December 31, 2021.

About Applied UVs

Applied UV is focused on developing and acquiring technologies that address infection control in the healthcare, hospitality, commercial and municipal markets. The Company has two wholly owned subsidiaries – SteriLumen, Inc. (“SteriLumen”) and Munn Works, LLC (“Munn Works”). SteriLumen’s Connected Platform for Data Driven Disinfection™ applies the power of ultraviolet light (UVC) to destroy pathogens safely, completely and automatically, addressing the challenge of hospital-acquired infections (“HAI”). Intended for use in high customer turnover facilities such as hospitals, hotels, commercial facilities and other public spaces, the company’s Lumicide™ platform uses UVC LEDs in several patented designs for the infection control in and around high traffic areas, including sinks and toilets, killing bacteria, viruses and other pathogens residing on hard surfaces near appliances. The company’s patented drain disinfection device, Lumicide Drain, is the only product on the market that addresses this critical, pathogen-intensive location. SteriLumen’s Airocide® air purifying devices are research backed, clinically proven and developed for NASA with assistance from the University of Wisconsin. Airocide® is listed as an FDA Class II medical device, uses proprietary photocatalytic bioconversion (PCO) technology that draws air into a reaction chamber that converts harmful molds, microorganisms, pathogens into airborne, destructive VOCs, allergens, odors and biogases into harmless water vapor and green carbon dioxide without producing ozone or other harmful by-products. Airocide® applications include healthcare, hospitality, grocery chains, winemaking facilities, commercial real estate, schools, dental offices, post-harvest, grocery stores, facilities of cannabis and houses.
